So everyone started taking finals and I was like
"I hate only having one paper that I already turned in a week ago!"
So I took off, left all my stressed loved ones behind,
And spent the weekend with my granny & grumps instead.
It was the best finals week I have ever had.
I left Thursday and arrived around 2.
I ate at a place that was recommended to me: Teriyaki Grill.
IT IS THE GREATEST!! I ATE THERE EVERYDAY!
I got the teriyaki chicken salad every time. The dressing!! I die!!
Then I went to visit my granny at work (her mission)
and locked my keys in the car so............that was an adventure
We ended up hitting a few stores and then went to see
The Longest Ride.
Which I loved (minus the nudity which I didn't actually see because I don't watch sex scenes)
It was so beautiful! The art and the scenery. I loved the old couples relationship.
I loved the houses. I love the outfits. I loved the characters.
I even loved the bull riding.
Yes, I did read the book but I actually liked the movie better.
Friday we did a little shopping, a little eating, a little sun-soaking.
Granny and I went to breakfast at Breakfast At Tiffany's at Green Valley.
I wore my pineapple dress that I love so much. I had to get a snow cone.
AND THEY WERE OPEN!!
Then we found our way to the antique and consignment stores which I LOVE.
I bought a dresser. Oops. But I am so excited about it.
And some old art and a few vintage handkerchiefs.
We went for a long walk. All the cacti are blooming. They are beautiful.
I love this house so much! But Granny was thinking it was a little overgrown.
We took grumps to teriyaki grill and also got hot fudge sundaes from Culver's.
Granny and I watched Fred Astaire movies all night.
Saturday I went to here Susan Easton Black speak with her husband at the tabernacle.
It was a beautiful sermon about the choices made by members of the original quorum of the 12
Granny and I grabbed lunch afterwards at Twenty-Five on Main.
I ate a cookie dough stuffed cupcake. It was amazing.
We went succulent/cactus hunting.
Then we picked up Grumps and drove to Kayenta to look at the art
and get a Royden--a slushed mint coconut lemonade and it is AMAZING!
Then we drove to Gunlock (not overflowing) and around the mountain back to town.
We grabbed dinner (teriyaki grill again--seriously SO good!)
At hot fudge sundaes at Neilson's (better than culver's)
We stopped at the bookstore where I got a beautiful collection of Hemmingway's novels.
Plus a record of the
Gaurdians of the Galaxy soundtrack...
oh, and some See's candy! I LOVE graduation gits :)
Granny and I went for a hike up to the cement arrow used back in the day
by mail planes traveling to Los Angeles.
Then we played games with the Garrett's (always hand-and-foot)
And Granny and I watched
All The King's Men before bed
Sunday I got up, soaked up some sun, and hurried home to my sweetheart
whom I dearly missed. I like adventures better when he is there.
But this weekend was splendid. So peaceful and relaxed and warm and fun.
I just had a good vibe all weekend. Maybe it's because I started listening to
Rose Harbor Inn
on the way down, and that is such a lovely book.
But I missed Travis!
So we spent the good majority of the night packing up his apartment of two + years and moving stuff to his aunt's house, where he will live until we get married.
